This is not a probability of success.

The latest jump prompted me to scour ebay for a pair of pristine used wings and secured a pair for £200 from a pampered boxster that had never seen the rain - worth the few hours drive back and forth to fetch them

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The original front wings on my C4S are starting to show signs of rust / rot around the arches. One of the rears is worse so I'm looking to get some cosmetic body work done at some point in the near future which will take care of all of this. I am now looking to acquire some new replacement front wings ahead of having this work carried out. Design 911 have them but they want £1,000 per wing. Just wondering if anyone is aware of anywhere else I should give a try first? Thanks Danny

POST 2Original post

I'd look at Bell and Colvill or go direct to Porsche - a new factory front wing should be around £450+VAT at the moment... Even with VAT and shipping (if needed) that's a lot less that D911 are quoting

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! Quick search on B&C has already saved me 50%! I'll give OPC a call as well.

POST 4Original post

I bought and paid for something off Bell & Colvil and they contacted me 2 days later saying the prices are wrong on their website and told me the new prices according to what the dealers say. They had to refund me as I wasn't prepared to pay what they were then asking for. it went from £140 to £300 The prices are wrong so don't go off them.

POST 5Original post

It depends on the parts with Bell and Colvill - those with more turnover are kept more up to date. Wings were shown as ~£370+VAT about 6 months ago so hopefully the current shown price isn't wildly off and OPCs can still quote a lot lower than D911 in a lot of cases, so never safe to just assume With the age of our cars it just makes sense to compare all the sources before making the decision The latest jump prompted me to scour ebay for a pair of pristine used wings and secured a pair for £200 from a pampered boxster that had never seen the rain - worth the few hours drive back and forth to fetch them

POST 6Original post

When I first got my 98 C2 Cab, the lacquer was peeling off the bonnet and the offside front wing had a massive dent in it. I found a local guy breaking a good condition Boxster S of the same age and colour with very good condition wings and bonnet for £150 for the pair. He was turning it into a 356 replica with a fibreglass bodyshell, so many parts were no longer needed. The paint is a perfect match as they're also the same age and they're rust free and in great condition. As for Bell and Colvill, yep, I've had that loads of times. Their prices are way out of date. The last 2 times they doubled when contacted 2 days after ordering.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just had the prices off local OPC. £723.52 each. Not much in the way of good quality second hand parts on eBay for 996.2. Most have more rust on them than my current parts do!

POST 8Original post

I have a single 996.2 wing in good condition. Nearside I think. Currently in Rubystone. MC
