Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

So, with new battery installed, and trunk light disconnected, I am seeing from 0.13 to 0.25 dc amps at the battery cable.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

About 2 weeks ago I woke my 99 up from her winter rest , washed and cleaned her, and charged the 3 yr old battery up. Everything worked ok. Yesterday the battery was dead-only 3 or 4 volts, and would not take a charge. So, with new battery installed, and trunk light disconnected, I am seeing from 0.13 to 0.25 dc amps at the battery cable. Is this a normal draw? Thanks for your answer.

POST 2Original post

You should be at 40-60 milli amps, you are at 130 to 250 milli amps, or 3.25 to 4.2 times too high. You have a parasitic draw somewhere......

POST 4Original post

Let it sit with the meter for 2+ hours until the trunk light and other not so obvious things time out. Then read it without opening any doors, lids etc. Any difference in readings between locked and unlocked? See the chart in post 6 of this thread for readings vs time: https://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/43659-battery-drain-an-interesting-one/
