Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've now installed 997 seats and have around 5-6 inches head clearance
Leading evidence: 'Install 997 seats and have around 5-6 inches head clearance' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'only' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust backrest' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Yes I have the correct method, used the cirrect levers and I am able to get the seat back but not quite far enough.

You have an adjustment to lift the seat up and down, this will be manual on your seat by your seat description, I'm thinking it's raising properly and you might need so persuasive force, try adjusting without sitting in the seat to give the spring a chance to work and force upwards without weight on the seat

Yes, that is the method I have used....but I haven't tried the passenger seat to see if that seat moves back sufficiently and the problem is only on on the driver's side.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My C2 '04 has electric tilt but manual fore and rear movement controls to the seats. As I move the seat away from the wheel the seat lowers to the extent that I feel that I am just peeping over the windscreen and my thighs are clear of the front of the seat. a folded blanket lifts me and does the trick. I am 5'10" and 75 kgs....Mr average.....so what adjustment am I missing?
Stuart
Do you mean the rear of the seat has electric tilt or the base? The seat base can be moved up and down with the lever on the side of the seat as well as back and forth with the lever under the front of the seat.
Thanks for your reply. The backrest recline is electrically operated and the lever, as you say, raises the seat a little but appears to move it forwards at the same time. The manual for and aft lever then allows the seat to move back but nowhere near enough. There must be lots of owners taller than me...how do they manage?
Are you pushing it down to the lowest position? To lower it you have to sit in it, pull the lever, then push backwards and the seat lowers to it's lowest position. To lift it, you really need to get out, pull the lever and let it spring back up. Hope I'm making sense.
Once you get the height right, you then use the lever on the front to move back and forward to the required distance.
Sounds like something may be jammed on your driver's seat. Have a go in the passenger seat and see it that behaves the same/different.
Yes, that is the method I have used....but I haven't tried the passenger seat to see if that seat moves back sufficiently and the problem is only on on the driver's side. Thanks for that possibility.
As a guide, both seats should have exactly the same travel and position. You should soon be able to see if the end of travel position is different on one than the other.
The drivers seat does not go back as far as the passenger's! I will check what is stopping the movement however there is only 5mm difference and I am more used to the Italianate style so I will see what can be gained. Thanks Alex again.
Are you sure you are using the height adjustment?
You have 3 adjustments.
1st is sliding back and forth.
2nd is adjust the backrest from upright to reclined.
3rd is the height adjustment, which, well....adjusts the height of the base up and down.
The height adjustment one is on the side next to the backrest, but unlike the backrest is a lever that simply releases the seat allowing it to spring upwards.
It won't if you're sitting in the seat and sometimes if not used can get stiff.
Yes I have the correct method, used the cirrect levers and I am able to get the seat back but not quite far enough. I am working on it. Thanks for your comments and advice.
How tall are you?, I'm 6ft and I have a good 3-4 inches head clearance.
I've now installed 997 seats and have around 5-6 inches head clearance
Either way I think your seat adjustment is not allowing fulll adjustment
Do you have anything under the seat that could restrict the adjustment?
I can't see anything under the seat but I continue to investigate....as I noted I am not the tallest chap in the world and I am sure I can find comfort someway.
