Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ive noticed the rear drivers side footwell has been wet latley the carpet itsself is ok it was the sponge underneath which i have now dried out, however it must of got in somewhere? any ideas it a 996 convertable and recently it wasnt covered up for about 2 weeks and had 2 inches of snow sat on it for a while, im guessing the snow defrosted and some of it ended up in my car everywhere else in the car is fine and dry ive never really known where the drain holes are on my 996 so maybe cleaning those out initially would help thanks

POST 2Original post

Yes definitely drain holes will be blocked. This should be part of your service regime

POST 3Original post

Remove the plastic rivets out the front part of your rear wheel arch liner, pull the liner back to reveal the drain hole, pour water over the side of the soft top between rear quarter window and rear of soft top so water runs down the drain, then poke the shoite out the drain hole with a knitting needle or the likes. Jump back quick whilst everything comes flooding out.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

do i have to take the whole plastic arch cover out or just a few screws and fold it back?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 7Original post

Yeah - deffo on next Saturday. See you there mate.

POST 8Original post

Remove rear speakers and you can see the hopper that collects the water, there is also a corrugated tube connected to the hopper that is known to split.

POST 9Original post

This is one of my jobs for the weekend, thanks for the info. Alex love that picture, my car is almost a mirror image apart from the roof. Another labour of love on the todo list
