Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Been looking for replacement tyres for my C4S which are 225/40/18 (front) and 295/30/18 (rear) but been having a real struggle finding anyone that has both sets in at a reasonable price. Places seem to have one or the other but not both and I was ready to pull the trigger this morning on some Michelin Pilot Sport 4S' with Camskill who had both in last night when I check and then the fronts weren't available when I checked again this morning. Is it some kind of supply issue or something or are companies purposefully pulling one or the other? Was going to go with PS4 or PS5 as mine is a daily driven road car and never sees the track but Michelin don't appear to produce a 295 width tyre in either of these formats. Anyway two separate trips to two different tyre fitters to get these sorted! Is

POST 2Original post

I'm also looking to replace the tyres on my Turbo, probably going to go with with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S They seem to be in short supply everywhere, you might end up having to get fronts from one place and then rears from another - not ideal....but better than nothing? Blackcircles.com say they can supply them in a few days...?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Exactly what I've just done. If it helps Kwik Fit were cheapest for the two rears (£612 fitted with the code JANSALE - don't forget to add the code like I nearly did!) and National Tyres and Autocare for the fronts (£335 - and they sweetened the deal with a whopping £5 off! better than nothing I suppose!). Works out under £240 per corner which I was ok with. Best prices I could get from hunting around online yesterday afternoon. I didn't call round anywhere because I didn't have the time but I have heard local garages can be cheaper. It just seems weird that one day a place has them in stock the next they don't but then they suddenly do have the one they didn't have previously! This happened several times to me over the course of a couple of days. Got fed up and just bit the bullet but I think I got an ok price.

POST 4Original post

Michelin PS2 N3 rated are available on Blackcircles at the moment. Around £880 a set which is £200 more than I paid this time last year. No discount code ATM but they regularly come up with 15% off if you keep checking.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes I should have said I was looking to try one of the newer iterations of the Pilot Sports with the PS2s having been fitted since the car came into my ownership. Simply for comparison really.

POST 6Original post

I just ordered PS4S today for my 996 turbo - fronts from MyTyres, rears from Camskill! Getting them fitted during a wheel refurb so didn't want them fitted Agree it's an utter pain. I almost gave in and got another set of PS2, but the 4S have a much more modern wet weather performance

POST 7Original post

Yes, I had similar difficulties last year trying to get 235 fronts and the 295 rear in a pilot sport 4S I ended up getting the 235/40/18 from Oponeo for £156 each. I'd never used these before and had a mixed experience. I ordered the tyres in Jan then after a couple of days the order was cancelled as they said they couldn't get them (despite showing in stock on their website). The tyres then came back on the site about 10 days later, so I tried again (as having no luck sourcing anywhere else). Second time around, they were delivered in two days! then after a few bits of calling around, getting the 295/30/18 from Tyre Northampton for £279 each (took a week or so for then come in)
