I would guess its a 911 (probably a 3.2 carrera/SC with a kit on it.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

wasn't there one of these built years ago? a white one that had been smashed up or is that another one of those old wifes tales?
any road, watching the amazing documentary last night "the fight of their lives" (about the ill fated benn-mclelland fight, superb film even if you only have a passing interest in boxing) it showed benn in what apperaed to be a 959 cabrio tooling around marbella.
my guess is a 3.2/964 with a body kit-any ideas? not sure if his snidey plate will unearth anything with a reg search?

I remember the car well as it was converted from a 964 C4 targa at a local (Beckenham) back street Porsche specialist around 1997.
I have more pictures of the car but they are not digital so will have to scan them.
The car was painted pearl white with a very pale blue interior.
It carried the number plate H1 NGB at the time.

IMHO - horrible....
i've got to admit the camera angle is sort of looking down on the tv making it appear worse than it is. on the move on the tv show it actually didn't look that bad-it'll be interesting to see some more pics of it

Looks completely wrong.... And look at the right wing mirror!
My (964) race car the same! We worked out that it had a LHD passenger door fitted, rather than a RHD driver's door - the mirrors mounts in different places on each. Same here I guess.
It's a 993.

That's a 964 - see the chassis number, specifically a Turbo Coupe according to the VIN decoder on Renntech.

i vividly remember watching that fight unfold in a pub in kensington ... shocking stuff
Yeah I remember watching it down the pub, they were superb days for boxing but this was terrible.
It was on itv1 a week or so ago-if they have a version of Iplayer it'll probably be in there

what happenened?
In the boxing? A whole sorry tale.....
Mclelland was fighting with a relatively inexperienced corner, pretty early on he was showing some strange signs of distress-gasping for breath, strange eye movements, inability to keep his gum shield in etc
To compound the problem most way through the fight if you didn't have it even you'd have had him ahead. He knocked Benn out of the ring in the 1st or second & the ref (who didn't speak English) gave him 20 to recover-even though he didn't leave the canvas.
It was a hollywood script of a fight, Benn head butted him, they knocked each other down, it was epic.
But like I say Mclelland was showing some strange signs, things we certainly picked up on watching, & probably his team should have thrown in the towel (in hindsight).
He went down in the 10th or 11th iirc, but not out, just kneeled down, folk thought he'd given up. He was unconscious within minutes of the bell & never fully recovered from a brain clot.
Other contributing factors were of course the arena he was in-this was his big shot, he was hyped as being a total bad ass (to be fair the documentary explained he was!) & these things happen in that kind of sport. Even more absorbing was how Benn went off at the deep end afterwards, claimed he never fully recovered from what he did, the arc of the film was Benn organising a gala dinner for Mclelland in which over 200k was raised for him & they met for the first time since.
It looks better in white but still looks naff and the 3 spoke alloys are awful-I never liked them even when they were in fashion-probably around the time these pictures were taken.
Not that I'd ever say what Ive written here to Nigels face of course...!
Ah I think you'd be alright these days marsellus, he's a born again Christian now so fairly unlikely to "get medieval on your ass"
& hey back when I way 21 I was cool is owt with my fiesta rs turbo-three spokes n'all!
If I remember correctly, Warren did all the bodywork on the car which involved a great deal of cutting back to enable the rear end to hinge correctly just as a real 959.
He also rebuilt and fitted a 930 turbo motor. I wish I had more pics......
Back in 04 I remember Nigel having this very car in Majorca.
Went out to see a friend who lives in Majorca & said I've just seen a Porsche convertible with BEN on the plate & I'm sure it was Nigel Benn., my mate said it was he's living here & it was at a time he was DJing allover.
Cars restoration looks fantastic I actually thought it was a 959 that had been converted to a convertible, but saying that he's a champion he wouldn't go then & have a 959 converted to RHD .
