Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
The 7 speed manual is very easy to use, very precise and the clutch is light.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Cant help but daydream about my
next
car. I have the base
981
now and absolutely love it, but as a
Porsche
enthusiast, I still find myself thinking about my
next
toy. Unfortunately, the
718
is out. I think it’s an amazing feat for what it is, but I’d rather buy a Toyota 86 and throw on a turbo for a lot less money. Frankly, the flat 6 is why I’m here, so I’ve narrowed my choices to a 2016/future
gt4
, or a base 991.2 with some goodies. Also, I haven’t completely ruled out a bgb 3.8 swap since it’s pretty much a direct swap without having to hacksaw anything.
So far I’m leaning to the 991.2 base bc I’ve always wanted a
911
, and the base is ridiculously good now....
What would you choose and why?
GT4
would be my choice, and I'm in a similar situation. Have a
981
CS now, mostly for weekend drives and the track. I think the
GT4
it's a bit more special, can track out of the box for sure, and looks amazing. I also expect prices to drop once the new GT4s come out, though that's just me speculating.

Depends on what you want to use the car for. The
911
has back seats, is more practical and is the
Porsche
Icon. The
GT4
looks and sounds better IMHO. The mid-engine handles better too.
I'd go for the
GT4
. I have a 991.2 C4 and a 981BS so I think that I am unbiased towards either model. They are all great cars.
How do you plan to drive it?
991 is going to be a better daily driver and your girl will enjoy it more.
GT4
is a surgical canyon and track tool. It is not terrible on the street but it wants to be pushed... hard... all the time.
Pick your poison. I know which one I would get.
911 T
is a good choice for sure. I think you can even get sort buckets and a manual. Probably like in the 120k territory, so more than a current/used
GT4
.

I'd also consider a
911 T
. And with MT, no need to be over 105K if you don't go overboard on leather/options, and can get an allocation at MRSP. The key options are built in. The problem with the GT 4 is you are going to pay a premium for a used car, and it will be someone else's spec, and risk a price fall if the new
GT4
retains the NA engine.
Interesting you asked for opinions. These two are so different that IMO it is very easy to make a choice. You just need to decide on what exactly you need/want from your
next
Pcar...
And it seems you are pretty settled on 991.
If it was my choice I'd go
gt4
while keeping my 991. If I had to have one only it would've then been a 991.
Very interesting regarding the 991.2 T model. I’ve been playing around feverishly with the configurator, and I keep adding the bucket seats to my build haha. I think you almost have to! Problem is, we are now close to
gts
territory, albeit a base no optioned one.
That said, I really do love my
cayman
, even with its anemic 2.7. I like the fact that I don’t feel the need to baby it. If I had a
gt4
, I would treat it more like a collector car. I know, it’s all in my head! That’s why I think the
Carrera
T is a great option for me. Even though it is somewhat special, it’s more like a black edition than a gt car.
Honestly, I wish I could afford both! Maybe the right word tho is justify..... You see, my wife calls the shots :-|
As others have commented, depends upon how you will use the car. I went from a 2013
Boxster S
(summer car) to a 991.2 4S. My
911
is eminently more usable than my Boxter ever was. It is much more comfortable with the 18-ways seats, is very fast, rides well and is overall excellent both for backroads and highways. The 7 speed manual is very easy to use, very precise and the clutch is light. It is a wonderful car and so far exceeds expectations by a lot. It is not perfect, but is close to it. I don't think I was ever as enamoured with my
Boxster
as I am with my
911
. And I don't have the sports exhaust or sport
PASM
. I am driving it now in NH winter with snow tires and it really is an everyday car. What I needed
my
sports car to be. Not a limited use toy. Porsche IMO does the 911 very, very well.
GT4
motor is raced in the Clubsport. I don't believe the MA175 in the 991.1
GT3
was ever raced. That said, the MA175 at 9k is something special and now covered by a 10yr/ 120k mi warranty.
