Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Nowhere to do it, didn't need the grief as I need it running asap for the next track day.....plus time at the moment....

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've just pickd my beloved 996tt up from OPC and having undergone some serious open wallet surgery for major service, I need to have all three rads replaced. OPC price nearly £1700 although wth some negotiation this came down to £1400... Have checked and parts are cira £600, so my question, how easy is it to replace the rads? In the past I have always worked on my cars and whilst I am not a "mechanic" I would like to think I have a good technical knowledge....

POST 2Original post

hahaha, timing. I just got mine back from JZ for the two rads, two air con condensers, new front hoses, new rear main hoses, a/c regas and coolant replacement. All up, £1500......Middle rad wasn't changed. How easy diy? Easy. There is a thread to follow for some of it. Hardest bit would be the coolant replacement .... they are poop to get all the air out of.... http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7070 That url will give you most of the info.... Really, its unbolt and bolt. Get new hoses for the front while you're at it.... Also, you're a/c will probably be getting sad.... they corrode the same and take the stones and leak.... my AC is heaps cooler now, even though it was still working - but there was evidence of leakage on the condenser.... Why didn't I do it myself? Nowhere to do it, didn't need the grief as I need it running asap for the next track day.....plus time at the moment....

POST 3Original post

No question: get it done by an independent. OPCs are charging you their c. £110+ / hr labour charge.
