Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, new here but have been a Boxa.net regular for years and am on my 3rd Box. It's finally time to get a 911 So, I'm thinking about a facelift 996 Carrera 2, 02/03 sub 40k miles. FPSH and ideally with already extended warranty. There seems to be a view on here that getting this for ~£30k is possible. Is this realistic? There are loads on Autotrader but the prices are quite high and few include a OPC warranty. I know that this sort of question has been asked before but I'd really appreciate the view of experts on current prices etc. I've looked at the normal places and spoken to Stirling and 911virgin but these guy put the price of what I am looking for at more like 35/36k Cheers Mike

POST 2Original post

I recently had the same experience. Privately you should be able to find a good low-ish mileage 02/03 at the spec you wish for aprox 30-33k but trade this will equate to 33-35k. Check autotrader and topmarques to get an idea of what is currently around and values... Enjoy the search, it's part of the 911 experience...

POST 3Original post

Have a look through the back issues of Total 911, I remember :?: a good article on this subject in the last year, but not which month - Sorry. I prefer to buy the car from an OPC. Yeah I know you pay more :x , but you get the extended warranty back up, and you are less likely to end up buying a pup :thumb: Have a go on the Porsche Used Vehicle section of the website. You never know you might get lucky. Regards Big Bob. PS I bought my 2003 Facelift 996 from Wilmslow OPC with 20K Miles over a year ago for the high £30Ks.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nice car and nice price Big Bob. Best deal in OPCs at the moment is an c2 02 52 35k miles for £35k which don't seem like a bargain !!!! Cheers Mike

POST 5Original post

What about an 03 Targa with 22K Miles at £35K? Regards Big Bob

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I really want a coupe don't really "get" Targas. You reckon theres ony movement/negotiation with OPCs ?

POST 7Original post

Hi Mikees Yeah I had an idea the Targa might not quite hit the spot, but its low mileage, and will come with extended warranty. Its hard out there for any Car Dealer at the moment even OPCs. I think you can push prices down at the moment. But dont Part/Ex your car with them if you really want to suck the blood out of them Regards Big Bob
