I suspect the shade of red available for Cabriolet roofs wouldn't blend well, but I don't have any examples to test that hypothesis.

Red and black go well together, but for me the color change on the Amaranth Red car broke the rear roofline.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

This is a small offshoot from the "Waiter's Club" thread. I've been trying to put my finger on why I like the looks of my 2018 GTS 4 cab so much better than I liked the looks of my 2014 C4S cab. Aside from "it's a shiny new car and a GTS and has a handful of features the old car didn't have," I mean. Obviously this is always a matter of taste, but for me, the improvement in appearance comes down to roof color and interior color. Red and black go well together, but for me the color change on the Amaranth Red car broke the rear roofline. It never felt like a cohesive whole, the way a coupe's roofline does from rear angles. In contrast, the blue roof blends well enough with the body color that the break doesn't leap out at me. I'm not sure you can get the same effect with a red roof / Amaranth Red car. I was unable to find any examples on the web, the red roofs all seem to be on white, silver, or black cars. Which is a combination I definitely don't like. I suspect the shade of red available for Cabriolet roofs wouldn't blend well, but I don't have any examples to test that hypothesis. There's also the interior color. I just never warmed to the beige of my red C4S. Light colors certainly have some practical advantages, like not heating up on a sunny day, but I much prefer a black interior. The black wheels are nice, too, of course. These are black-painted Carrera S wheels, and I think the old ones were Turbo I style, yet I think I prefer the design of the new wheels anyway even if they weren't black. Which is definitely personal preference. For more minor things, I also prefer the black lettering, and the solid band for the brake lights. The old one had a band, but stopped at the main lights instead of continuing across the top.

POST 2Original post

Both cars look very nice to me. I had a GR Boxster with a black top that I traded for my Nightblue C4S. The sapphire blue is very nice and was my second choice but it clashed with the chalk and blue leather interior that I have in my car. I think the blue top would have blended even better with a darker shade of blue but still looks nice. Black wheels are a personal taste. I had my Boxster wheels powder coated black and it looked very sharp with the GR paint. With the Nightblue, it would made the whole car too dark so I avoided it. I should have gone for the platinum wheels to hide the copious amounts of brake dust.

POST 3Original post

The blended blue on blue looks good in your pictures. Glad you decided against the beige interior as you can see the windshield glare in the picture you posted of your previous car. I have to disagree with your opinion of the black wheels. I much prefer painted silver. Again, personal preference. Like you, I decided against the hassle of the center lock wheels and opted for the lugged ones. Unlike you, I'm not equipping my GTS with winter tires. The weatherman claims a few relatively warm days ahead, so I'll hopefully get a couple of rides in before putting her to bed for the winter.

POST 5Original post

I'm aware that a darker blue would have blended better, but there was no way I was giving up Sapphire Blue. As for black wheels, my winter wheels are black as well.

POST 7Original post

Try and see if you can get Porsche caps for those wheels.

Hi all, I’m a newbie here so I’ve probably broken a rule with this as a first post but I rather like the red which is why I have a 991.2 c4s cab in guards red Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
