Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all
Having now taken delivery of my 996TT I am generally delighted with her but for one minor snag.
I am quite tall (at 6ft 5) and I find that there is a natural pinch point between my left leg and the steering wheel. It occurs to me that this would be improved if the wheel was a little smaller. Does anybody know of any geniune OEM wheels that could fit the bill? It would absolutely have to be a genuine 996 wheel.
JJ
Thanks Mark, that's brilliant!
I think it's worthy of a permanent place in the 996 FAQ section as 'how to fit the Motorsport steering wheel'. -->
clicky here
Firstly, thanks all for the input - greatly appreciated!
Second question - how much?
I must admit, the car for me is still quite an expensive toy - I started to shudder at the mention of a soldering iron. I presume the installation is entirely reversible?

380 Euro, but check it fits Turbo. It's reversible in mine.
Ade will be along in a moment to put you right though.
Thanks matey - it is not listed for the Turbo, but they do list other 340mm wheels (sadly not porsche though). I have sent them an email to establish whether it can be fitted to a turbo (cant see any reason why not)
JJ
Cool! Good to know, Adrien!
I need to decide between that, or the slightly more subtle, but not genuine 340mm leather wheel, which I guess would be reasonably difficult to pick up by the average passenger.

Plus and minus points to replacing your steering wheel with an Cup item:-
+ best interior mod you will ever make
- slippery slope into aftermarket oblivion. It starts with something as innocuous as a filter kit, or purchance the aforementioned steering wheel, you think you can cope with it, you know what you are doing, you can stop any time you want. The reality is quite different, you find a ferry ticket to mainland europe you don't remember buying, a google map to the ring you don't remember downloading, and cheque stubs, credit card reciepts or direct debits to Manthey Motors that you don't recall writing. There is no hope, you are doomed to a life of lust and envy of any go faster product. Really sad cases are identified with such products as revs or fast cars. Good luck.

Totally brainwashed.......there's nothing that can be done
Personally with the BMC F1, Simtis map and PFCs that might be the line drawn.....although my frequent trips to the US might make me consider some Motons.......no, no, stop it!
