I would certainly get it checked over but I bought a low mileage, similar age C2 Cab and so far, could not be happier.

Went to look at a 996 cab today and it was ultra low mileage - 23K on a 2000 car. Looked at the service history and it was last (officially) serviced in 2005 at 15500 miles. The car appears to have done less than 10K since then but surely the car should still have been serviced every year?? Is there anything to look out for in particular as the car does look as if it has not been used much in the last few years. There is a purchase invoice in 2005 (from an OPC) showing 15K miles so it seems to check out. Obviously a PPI would be a must but is there anything else that I should be looking out for?

Had it looked over and it had been well maintained, even though the car had not been driven much.
- The car should be serviced every 12/24k or at least once a year if it has done less then 8k per year. At most the car has not been serviced for 3 years? Any reason why someone who brought their P&J for OPC would not carry out at least an annual check? (around £120ish)

Do he has receipts for any of these? They are not all mileage related but can be necessary by the age of the car (and if it is in minimal use)
Once all that fits, dont fail on the PPI. Some buyers, use the PPI as a "deposit" for the car. It may be good to find out what your options are..
Thanks for the advice folks. I saw another car with similar mileage today and it had an OPC service every year so my deposit was duly handed over and I will be driving it next week subject to a successful PPI. This will be the longest 6 days of my life!!!!

Nice one Eddie. If you think it's bad now, wait until it's the last night before you pick it up. No sleep, excited like a kid on Christmas eve, up early (chain smoking if you smoke) etc. It's a familiar pre pick-up condition which gets reeplaced by a moronic grin once you get the keys
