This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I have a set of front/rear coilovers taken off of our 2012 Boxster S at 30K miles. They are in great shape and just need the rubber components replaced. Do these have any value? I know that the replacements from Porsche are expensive.

POST 3Original post

Thanks for the clarification. Appreciated. Are the struts worth anything?

POST 4Original post

If you can find someone local who is interested in them, maybe $60-100/corner ($240-400). The issues with them are: they ARE used, and since they're off the car there is no way to test ride them. They "probably" are fine, and probably will last to 100k total miles, and if I had 100k on my car and wanted to do an update for not huge money, they'd be a deal. They need new rubber bits, and that requires disassembly (easy for someone with a bench-mounted spring compressor - not so easy with the cheap screw-down ones), either way - it will probably cost money. And the gamble is - the installation cost. DIY is good, if not DIY how much to have a mechanic do it, and then the alignment needed after installing them. So costly if bought new from Porsche , but for half the Porsche price you can get a true adjustable coil-over setup with all new rubber, and you'd know that it's good going into the car. You can always list them for sale on the market place with a $### "or best offer" price and see what happens. Just be aware that in some cases, the shipping might cost as much as you are selling them for.

Thanks for the info. Very helpful. I know that new ones are costly. I‘m going to give them to my local Porsche mechanic for future use. Hate to throw them out. Thanks again.
