Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Will 8 x18 50 offset, and 11 x 18 45 offset fit on 996? Wanted for track wheels, already running 5mm spacers all around. Thanks

POST 2Original post

I believe that's a wide body setup. I had this on my 2000 C2 narrow body--hollow spoke turbo twists. Fronts work, but with the 295 tires on the rear they were just a bit too aggressive for me and rubbed a bit. They stuck out about 5/8". After I got some 10" 65 mm offset wheels for the back, with 15mm spacers (60mm offset total), I sold the hollow spokes to a guy with a narrow body 996 for some sort of race car build. When I mentioned the problems I had, he said he would probably just turn or shave some of the offset out of the wheel to make it fit. If that is safe, I wish I would have kept those wheels and done that--loved those hollow spokes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

POST 3Original post

The rear is for widebodies like brwilson says. Front is fine. I would not turn down the hub pad on the wheel to make it work. You need a min of .200 below the lug seat to be safe. Cheers
