Need help with vacuum lines - 986 Forum - The Community for Porsche Boxster & Cayman Owners
Hi, This is a 2000 Boxster S. I took off the plastic boot to clean the inside and I ended up with 3 hoses that are not connected. Read a few posts

Thanks but it didn’t. I don’t have a check valve as pictured... also where does the vacuum line from the upper intake tube go into?
quick update... I checked both electric change over valves (solenoids) attached to ea side of the intake manifolds and they both have the middle and bottom nipples coming out and are connected to the right entities. After examining the line further I noticed what seem to look like end of a nipple that must of broken off from someplace. Pics attached. Besides the solenoids what else vacuum wise would have a tiny plastic nipple sticking out? Also after looking under the car as the line seems to be extra long I can’t figure out where it would go. For reference I’m talking about the line that breaks off from a T right under the drivers side intake manifold.

Could it be that it goes under the drivers side intake plenum?
Nah that wasn’t it. Come on guys... someone said it might be by cylinder 1 underneath any help please with pics
Wow man you guys really suck No one in this darn chat could help me. I finally figured it out by looking at a long block on eBay. The line attaches to a nipple that comes out from a plastic hose attached to the air pump. The only way to access it is from underneath the car. You welcome all future fellows looking for an answer... hundreds of posts and no one ever says where that line goes.

Wish I could have helped but I'm not able as I'm not even a little mechanically oriented.. Glad you got it sorted out though.

Consider a chat with the mechanic, is that you? As my dad said during the old technology days "I can't fix it over the phone the tools won't reach". We all try to help and guide where we can. We won't always be right however when we are the mechanically inclined save real money. If finding a broken nipple is vexing, you might want to stick with washing and waxing.
Gotta revive this post and very happy you made a post of this. Same issue. Replacing injectors and took out manifold but didn't remember this line even coming detached. Did you have to buy a new elbow look like the nipple is cast into the part? How did you get this back in?
Ok never mind found it. You have to by the whole vacuum, cant just replaced the elbow. Part # 987-355-575-03. I called around its a special order item so just call
Porsche
parts directly.
