Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Check bore score' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check bore score' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
Looking to help sell a close friends 996, and wanted to get input on pricing before listing it for sale. In no rush, so willing to wait for the right price.
1998 (R reg)
Manual
Coupe
arctic silver
Non-sunroof
<70,000 miles
Service history:
Porsche 98-05
Independent 05-current (book only stamped once in 2012, some invoices for works though), currently in for a service.
Been in ownership for last 7 years, with minimal mileage (kept garaged /undercover/not driven in winter)
Car is in excellent condition (interior/exterior)
Closest I have seen on autotrader is 20k+, didn't think values were that high yet though?
Any advice / interest appreciated
Thanks
As an early, manual, non-sunroof car I'd argue that's what a lot of people want - assuming it's on the original wheels and still has the amber indicators. A lot depends on the interior - colour and whether it has rouched leather. The aerokit is attractive to some but a turnoff for others.
The ballparks so far I agree with, but if it has the right spec and is genuinely kept on top of, £20k might be in reach.
Is it a Carrera 2 or 4? 2 will command more.
The questions you'll be asked are:
Suspension all refreshed? By Center Gravity/Another 'renowned' Porsche specialist?
Air conditioning condensers replaced?
IMS done?
RMS done?
Checked for Bore Score?
Ever been rebuilt?
I'd risk saying every single one of those you can answer 'yes' to will add more money/increase the chance of a strong offer. Then its 'silly' things like 'does it have 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres' to push the 'enthusiast owned, no money spared' territory that some people will pine for.
The suggestion of a local specialist doing a PPI report on it is a good shout also.
Without doubt.
However, I see it differently, it simply means people won't sell the cars for less than a fair price. At the moment I think the market is having a bit of a wobble unsurprisingly, but it won't be long and decent cars will all be north of £20k.
