Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Seems like the steering wheel feels a bit thin on my 07 base Cayman. I don't have the dollars to replace the entire wheel, any advice on wheel wraps or covers?

POST 2Original post

Yeah the stock one on those is indeed pretty thin.. Not sure what your budget is but I had a found a local sale for a refurbished wheel from http://www.dallassteeringwheel.com/sw1.htm and that was a nice upgrade.

POST 3Original post

Believe it or not, Advance Auto Parts had a slip on steering wheel cover made by Body Glove that almost (almost!) feels like Alcantara! And it's only like $25. They have a bunch of other ones to choose from as well.

POST 4Original post

I used one of the lace-on covers from Amazon. Works great!

POST 5Original post

I have only ever read good things about Dallas Steering Wheel. No personal experience, but I would think they are worth considering.

POST 6Original post

I had a 1984 SL with thin wheel. I sent wheel to Texas shop for recovering and they offered padding at whatever thickness you wanted under the leather. It came out great, but I don't remember shop (big shop, not a small local) and sent records with car when I sold it a few years back. I think it was in $2-3 hundred range. A good winter project, as wheel will be gone for a few weeks I think

POST 7Original post

I've done those on my Civic. It's holding up great 3 years later. I wouldn't hesitate to do it on any other car.
