The forum presented itself as an excellent venue to seek answers about the source of dealership window stickers. What source does the automobile dealership use to obtain the sticker which appears on their vehicle windows? The dealers obtain their window stickers through an unidentified database or system.
I need to obtain a new window sticker for my car because I want to replace the missing one. Users have suggested that one can acquire a window sticker by using their VIN number although they did not explain the process. Have any members of the forum had to experience this scenario? Should I phone my dealership or do you recommend any better method to obtain it?

Welcome to P9,
@Brianerian
- It's good to have you here. There are free versions out there, but you'll have to hunt for them. I think vinanalytics used to be free, but YMMV.
Make sure to introduce yourself in the New Members section, ideally with photos of your car. It's a strong tradition here before asking questions such as these. Cheers!
At least for domestic cars, the original window stickers are applied at the assembly plant. Not sure if it's the same for imported cars, but if not, I would imagine the importer (PCNA for example) puts them on at the port of entry or something similar. The ones you can generate through vinanalytics and other sites are considered "replicas."
You can use
Monroney
labels too. Gotta pay for it. But it's not a bad replica and I've seen dealers link to them to show original build specs.
From what I know, dealerships get their window stickers directly from the manufacturer’s system when the car is built. But once the car is sold, they don’t usually keep a copy. If it’s a newer car, maybe the dealer can help, but for older ones, it’s hit or miss. I’ve heard you can look it up online using the VIN. Might be worth checking out their Facebooks page for better understanding
