Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, I would like to sell my 996 1998. Do you have any advice on the best way to go about it, for a reasonably quick sale? Thanks Chris

POST 2Original post

Put a full description and pictures of it on the 'Cars for Sale' sub-forum and/or place a free classified advert (see details to left of screen). If it's priced right it should sell quite quickly. Good luck

POST 3Original post

As T8 has stated, if it's priced right it will sell quickly. Good cars at sensible money are in demand.

POST 4Original post

I put mine on here and Pistonheads. Sold in 5 days

POST 5Original post

:agree: I'm planning on joining the ownership rollercoaster next year and this is the only place I'll be looking at cars for sale when the time comes. At least here there's a good chance (although nothing in life is guaranteed) that the cars have been looked after properly.

POST 6Original post

I'd use carandclassic for a wider audience and still free to advertise. Don't restrict yourself to an audience of people that for the most part already have one.

POST 7Original post

I sold both of mine on PH. PH is not what it once was but it is the best place to post photo's with your advert, so make an effort with the photo's and that will help.

POST 8Original post

I bought my 98 996 cab manual from the For Sale section on here. Completely painless and an honest description of the car. There is much less chance of dealing with a scammer or idiot on enthusiast forums like this.

POST 9Original post

You have a point, there are a lot of time wasters and low ballers out there!

POST 10Original post

When I sold my turbo in the summer I had lots of photos car including documentation. I described all the upgrades and maintenance works undertaken in my ownership it sold in 4 days on Pistonheads. Deposit taken and collected 2 weeks after without a viewing.
