Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just said that I use PhotoShop, I never claimed to be good at it!

Suggestion
I also had to change the color of the right front portion of the bumper to blue, because I couldn't get the lighter "reflection: to look right on the lip.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone have pics of a C4s with the lower lip on the front bumper painted? Seen them for Turbos, but the lip on the C4s is pretty different and I would like to see that one specifically.
I am thinking to paint mine, but I am worried it will make the front end look a little heavy compared to the stock C2 rear bumper...
The lower lip on my C4 came from the factory painted. But it scars up so quickly it looks pretty bad and so its on a shelf in the garage until I can paint it black like the one was on my 99 C2.
Non-painted wouldn't look so bad.
My lip is black (unpainted) and with the amount of scrapes and scratches that happen along the way, I would never paint it. Would look very cheap with paint scratched and chipped off all over the place. Probably look sweet when it is just painted and untouched, but once it hits the road, all bets are off.
I wonder if it would look alright to paint up to a certain point, say 1/4" from the bottom of the lip and leave that buffer for scraps...? It might be tough getting a good paint line.
Neil - I "borrowed" your pic and did a little PhotoShop work on it to simulate the bottom of the lip unpainted. I also had to change the color of the right front portion of the bumper to blue, because I couldn't get the lighter "reflection: to look right on the lip. When we are done looking at the comparison, I will "return" your pic!
PorsacheRPH - I hope this helps you visualize the painted lip a little bit better!
I have a few silver cars with the lip painted and it does make a difference - it looks great.
It will certainly take a beating down there - but I bet you could even have a small amount mixed up and put in a rattle can at a local paint shop and just plan on touching it up every few months.
I would go for it - but I have a black car which removes that issue - but leaves tons of other paint related issues - lol

I know it sucks! I just said that I use PhotoShop, I never claimed to be good at it! I thought I was getting into PhotoShop but actually got into Embroidery-Shop, and couldn't find the correct weave to match!
Maybe I should put Neils pic back now, otherwise he may sue me for vandalism and defamation of P-car!
That is awesome, Kirk! Thanks!
It is hard to decide. The lip on the C4s bumper is not same line/curve as the bumper. It slants forward a bit. And it's not a straight like across the front, so the Photoshopping is necessary to get a better idea.
It's hard to decide, and in that case, I'll usually take the path of least resistance (much cheaper and easier to leave it alone).
I left my C4S Cab lip black on my Guards. Much easier for maintaining, and I can paint the thing anytime I need to. But it takes a bit of abuse. If you paint the front, then paint the lower side edges below the rockers, and the rear. Both bumpers come off for that work. We do it all the time, but my personal pref is to leave 'em satin black.
I agree with Eric. You do have to be careful. I had mine done because I liked the continuous "line" it made from the front to the rocker panels. It looks much cleaner IMHO when it's painted.
But believe me, you do have to be careful. That's why I never nowered my car. If it is lowered, then forget painting it. You'll get very frustrated!
