Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Also the difference a 5 chain and a 3 chain....the 5 chain cannot adjust the intake cam in slight degrees, it is either ON or OFF with a 12.5*/25* (cam/crank) difference , where the 3 chain can adjust in varying degrees up to ~50*...
Leading evidence: 'Adjust over time' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust intake cam in slight degrees' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Here is another Tech Tip I found while cloning/sorting my hard drive on my PC...We are always having questions about fuel trims, cam deviations, failing cats, missfires...ect..
This is just an overview/addition to the shop manual, and doesn't contain all the info available....but may be helpful to read it anyway, I think I heard that most only retain about 10% each time? so read it 10 times to get 100% ?
Anyway I think I have posted this years ago, but here it is again FWIW ..
Yes I have tons of Technical literature from 50 years of Factory Training going to classes every year and sometimes a few times per year...( Porsche , Mitsubishi, and FoMoCo ) ... Thinking of selling off some of it since I rarely even look at it anymore , and my kids and grand kids don't care to read this kind of stuff... ( they all stuck in thier I-Phones)
Read it all, once so far. I luv reading tech manuals. Will keep it for reference, for sure.
Thanks Skip...
"the actual angle should match the specified angle"
found this an interesting note on page 4.
Will cam deviation match/correspond to these values when they're mismatched..?
Hey
@allcool
I don't think I can accurately answer that/ or don't fully understand because the answer would be kinda yes and kinda no...
(1) The "deviation" is a learned value that is collected/adjusted over time...
(2) The "specified cam angle" is the commanded value that the DME "wants" at that particular instance/time
(3) The "Actual cam angle" is exactly what it says,...it is the actual cam angle at that instance of time...

Thanks Skip! I’ll be reading 10x, as my poor little brain has trouble processing trim values. Am I correct in saying the value shown is “pre-correction”? Meaning if I am showing a >1 value shows a lean condition, that the computer then attempts to correct by adding fuel (so the “actual” would be a value after additional fuel is added)?
I know it seems like a simple concept, but my brain is prewired to tuning carbureted 2 strokes, where “rich” and “lean” are only measured once correction (jetting) is done. If plug or sound is rich, I lean out jetting, and visa versa.
Hi
@JTT
yes the trim value shown is the "correcting value" that is used to modify the injector ON time....
If the trim is adding or subtracting such as in TRA ...the ideal is "0" and anything above zero (>0) is adding injector time and anything below zero (<0) is subtracting injector time...
If the fuel trim is multiplying as in FRA ...The ideal is "1" ( anything times 1 equals no change) so anything above 1(>1) is multiplying injector time and anything below 1 (<1) is still multiplying but multiplying a lesser number than 1 equals a lesser injector time than it was originally..
Just don't ask Terrance Howard about any of that....he insists that 1x1=2 ...
