I posed the question of release date on another Porsche Board (in which I have participated over the past 4 years) a dealer who is a regular contributor to the boardresponded withthe following info - This dealer has always been pretty accurate when conveying info in the past.: Dealers will receive a Cayman in December. This model is for showroom only and will not be permitted to be driven. The launch date is set for January 14th. and only at that time will anyone get to drive one. Up to the 14th dealers will be taking delivery of additional Cayman, but will have to store them. Nor good news for us who are expecting early deliveries.

Seems reasonable. Local dealer here seemed to think he car could be driven just not sold, but Porsche may not have laid the ground rules at the time of our conversation. I'm sure about the release date, isn't that after LA and Detroit shows?

Detroit Auto Show ends January 15, 2006. I was told Cayman could be sold and delivered January 16. My dealer also said the car he is to receive at the end of November could be test driven. Porsche may have changed the rules or my dealer misunderstood.

same story here ........ my dealer just got back from Spain, he will get two in the dealership in Novermber. One will be in the show room with a cover over it. The other is to be stored in the back, and will only be shown or test drove by the privileged few.

We heard dealer MAY have a Cayman to show o/aNovember 18th, so that resembles auto show releases. Wehope to get ours reasonably early as order was among very first placed, and we have heard our car has been manufactured and is at Bremen for shipment. This may be so much fluff, but.....
