I have a 2009
Porsche Boxster
base, 2.9 motor.
I am literally on a five day tour of northern Michigan with 250 other vehicles.
Yesterday my car started giving me an error message that says something like take vehicle to service shop. It also has a red!.
This is an intermittent issue that seems to come and go. At one time I turned the radio off and this resolved the issue. Another time I unplugged my smart phone from the cigarette lighter charger and this fixed the issue.
When this happens, the windows will not go up and down.
I did recently replace the car battery the day before I left on the tour. The old battery was working fine but was from 2019 and I thought I should replace it before it actually dies on me.
I am attaching a link that shows the batteries. The newer battery is of course in the car. All the old battery is on a smart charger.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Eilenberger's Law of Troubleshooting: Look where you last worked.
Check the tightness of the terminals to the battery. It sounds as if you have a high-resistance issue in the main battery power leads. Who installed the new battery?
And there have also been instances where a brand new battery fails shortly after installation - due to a manufacturing flaw. If everything is tight like it should be - I'd be heading for the nearest BatteryPlus store asking for a replacement battery. It doesn't say on the top - is the replacement an AGM battery? And did they hook up the vent hose? (not your problem, but most shops like that don't have a clue what they're doing when it comes to a

In addition to Don's wisdom, "check" your alternator? Coincidentally, I recently saw on a non-
Porsche
forum posting where christmas tree lit up on the dashboard when the alternator was dying....which may explain why your car goes back to "normal" when things are turned off / drawing less power?? Just a thought.
