I had my alignment set a couple of weeks ago but the O/S left rear toe adjustment was impossible for them to adjust and I didn't have the time for them to strip it to see what the issue was.
Leading evidence: 'Use hacksaw blade method and about 4 hours of patience' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I got on with it myself yesterday and found the eccentric bolt seized in the bush and I can't budge it at all, I've been wondering how to get it out as heat probably won't help and I've used penetrating fluid.

I have ordered a good used toe arm £20 from ebay and been to OPC to buy a bolt £7.

Turn the thing using a 6 sided impact socket and the longest lever that you can find.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

The sandflex blades weren't bad I think I used 4 blades per side, just swap blades when you feel it stops cutting. Heat just melts the bush leaving you with the alloy centre still stuck to your bolt and nothing to get hold of unless you cut the arm away too.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Took me 2 days to release a lathe saddle that had been ripped off a CNC lathe and jammed itself in the box slideway a few weeks ago, a car jack and a lead sledge hammer did the trick :thumb:
I had my alignment set a couple of weeks ago but the O/S left rear toe adjustment was impossible for them to adjust and I didn't have the time for them to strip it to see what the issue was. I was going to loosen everything lube up and take it back for them to finish the job.

Its looking like my only option is to cut it out with a hacksaw blade in my hand as my Grinder, Dremel and hacksaw won't fit in the confined space and if cutting it out a new bush and bolt will be required once I've butchered the existing.
Any suggestions before I spend hours with a hacksaw blade. :nooo:
10. Heat it until the bush starts smoking
20. Turn the thing using a 6 sided impact socket and the longest lever that you can find. A scaffold putlog on a breaker bar is ideal.
Go to 10.
It will either [a] free-off or
shear.
If [a] keep going.
If
drill the twat out.
The rubber of the bush is starting to delaminate (from the force I've already given it) from the outer metal sleeve so the next thing that's going to happen is the bolt and inner part it is seized to will be loose in the bush. Drilling out would be fine for the the bolt head but I can't get in to the nut end unfortunately.
+1 Recip saw or hacksaw.
Cut through the bolt in a few places and you should be able to get the arm out. Used this method on my old 944 on a the rear torsion mount bolts, worked a treat and a lot easier to cut through than I initially thought

Hopefully ultegra I won't make too much of a mess to require the subframe in your link.
I have ordered a good used toe arm £20 from ebay and been to OPC to buy a bolt £7. I don't have a reciprocating saw so may have to tackle it with a saw blade only and hours of patience.
Is there any access from the nut end to drive it out with an air chisel? If you cut part of the way through with a hacksaw then tighten it up it will snap at least one end off.
I used the hacksaw blade method and about 4 hours of patience. And then a few months later I did the other side.
I was lucky enough to get new TRW arms for about £40 each before supply dried up. Be careful of used arms, my balljoints went bad at 125k miles hence replacement. This sirte lists new FEBI, TRW and SWAG Arms new:

Buy the best blades you can lay your hands on, they blunt quickly on the high tensile bolt steel. I cut in the middle next to the subframe, through the bush and then the bolt.
Wrap the blade in tape or use a frame and keep breaking a bit off the end so you are using a new bit of the blade.
The sandflex blades weren't bad I think I used 4 blades per side, just swap blades when you feel it stops cutting.
Heat just melts the bush leaving you with the alloy centre still stuck to your bolt and nothing to get hold of unless you cut the arm away too. Excessive heat could also damage the subframe.
One problem with using an impact wrench to turn it is that it is an
eccentric
bolt head - using force in this way will damage the slot in the subframe that it turns in.
My coffin arm eccentric bolts were the same on the rear. Weirdly though the upper "dogbone" arm bolts all just slid out.
I'd be tempted to borrow a reciprocating saw (or theres a cheapie on ebay for £35
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321326280942
) and get some top quality blades. Not sure if the "throw" of the blade would be too big for this application though.
That is not a bad shout actually, especially if your coffin arm eccentrics are similarly stuck and your dog bones.
Would have been quicker and easier for me to swap that in. I bet weighing in the old assembly would get £15 back.....
Wasz, I actually bought one of those hacksaw blade holders from Screwfix this afternoon ready for a go at it tomorrow.
My coffin arms have Poly bushes that were suitable copper greased up when I installed them, Ideally I would like to get both Toe Arm bushes in poly too but I want to use the car at the weekend and don't fancy just one side in Poly for the short term.
4 hours of cutting you say.... :frustrated:
Just a remark: I have never known a car to have so many seized components and I've worked on plenty. Everything from PAS pipes to exhaust straps seizes beyond undoing. When I get the toolkit out for my finely honed Porsche I always bring heat and a hammer.
In this type of scenario at work, I usually apply a ridiculous amount of pressure to the threaded end of the bolt, using a socket or similar spacer and wind the nut onto it as tight as I dare..............then a ridiculous amount of heat onto the bolt............it will go, eventually
