Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For the first time in 3 years of daily driving her she is sorned and pulled into the garage for a few jobs.
There are a few bits and pieces I've been meaning to tackle for a while now but not had the time due to starting a new business.
Jobs on the list,
1. Replace starter motor.
2. Tackle any corrosion.
3. Replace brake pipe flexis.
4. Replace coffin arms, tuning forks, arb bushes.
5. Sprint booster.
6. Replace exhaust clamps.
7. Try and remove manifolds without snapping studs lol.
8. Paint calipers and new decals.
I'll take a few pics as I go along and do an update.
It will be interesting to strip things down and see how bad things have got. Dinitrol at the ready.
...my 996.2 lives each winter in the garage and like you I address any cosmetic or mechanical needs...

...like you this dedication comes at a price :sad: :thumbs:
...good luck buddy especially with the manifold!
Thanks mate. I'm sure I'll need it with the bolts. :nooo:
I am going to try and be restrained and stop the list becoming a monster. I've done a few resto jobs in the past and got carried away. A 928 I did years again ended up costing far more than it was worth. I ended up stripping out the dash and sending that to the trimmers along with the seats etc for re upholstering. Crazy.
Luckily my 996 is in quite good order so things should stay sensible...... :grin:

The only bits of corrosion seem to be the fron wheel wells where the arch liner does not cover. Always thought that was daft. I treated and Blatter some white hammerite on them a few years ago as a temporary measure to stop them getting any worse. Luckily it's just surface corrosion. The hacking points are solid but also have surface corrosion.

A few tips from my refresh project:
- above all tips and tutorials, find and download the official workshop manual as that has every task detailed out.
- FCP Euro has a good set of how to videos for a visual guide to some of the tasks you mentioned.
- for the callipers, I sent them to procalipers.co.uk for a rebuild and it was worth it.
Nice to see some tlc, I can recommend the lanoguard to help/cure any corrosion

Nice work.
Having used just about everything over the years and most recently Lanoguard, I'd say you're doing the right thing going with Dinitrol.
Dinitrol = permanent.
Lanoguard = temporary.
...I should have added that my pre winter works included ,pre paintwork, arranging a paintless dent removal chap to visit the body shop and run his eye's/hands over the car...I was aware of one ding...he found and rectified imperfections on 3 panels !
...straight as a die now :thumbs:
