I run a 265 on the factory turbo hollows with no issues, have for 2 seasons now, wasn't completely comfortable with stretch when I first had them fitted but have noticed nothing unusual, car seems to handle ok

But quite a few do run the 265/35 on the 11" rim in winter.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Would anybody be able to point me in the direction of a good winter tyre that would fit on my OEM wheels F 225/40 R18 R 295/30 R18? There doesn't seem to be anything available online through the main suppliers.

POST 2Original post

Don't Porsche recommend 265.35.18 rears for winters?

POST 4Original post

Yeah, that's right. But quite a few do run the 265/35 on the 11" rim in winter. The 10" winter wheel is on a 48mm offset. I would look for some used winter wheels, many are with nearly new tyres. Mind you, I run PS4 in the winter on this and Cup 2 summer, then decent all seasons on the 5 series. But I can leave the 996 at home when it snows.

POST 5Original post

A 265 on a 10in is very slightly stretched. On an 11in wheel it would not work. Best bet it get some 10in rears and space them out however unless you are planning on driving in really deep snow then an 11in rear with 285 section wont make much difference to the 265.

POST 6Original post

I fit 265 rears on 10J rims on my C4S.They need spacers as they look a bit skinny in the arches, but otherwise look and fit fine. I think mine have Yokahama winter tyres on, you may be a bit restricted on makers of tyres in that size.
