Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello All, After viewing seven cars, I bought my dream 996 on March 21. Fast forward 18 months, I have driven it 500 miles and no longer have the time to use it. I have done ok the price wise and looking at the market will quickly get my money back plus a bit extra. However, If I sell, I know I will be out of price in the future, and it won't be easy to find a nice car! I have access to a grilled shutter garage, so it lets natural light in. Can these cars be stored with a solar charger and an indoor cover?

POST 2Original post

There are various threads on here about things to do when storing a caar long term. I have owned my 911 for ten years and most of the time the car has been stored as I spend a lot of time out of the country. The car starts every time and does not have any detrimental issues for being stored. Provided you take some precautions it should be fine.

POST 3Original post

This very recent thread should be of interest. http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=151467&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

POST 4Original post

If the garage is secure I would just disconnect the battery. Takes 1 minute and no worries about chargers keeping up or failing. MC

POST 5Original post

My car has been stored indoors for 9 years - trickle charger and during that time I MOT'd it once, did perishables and recommissioned it this year. assure it goes in dry and starts once in a while. It worked for me.
