I installed a lightweight flywheel with sprung clutch and hate it-the noise under load at low-mid rpms is horrible.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I installed a lightweight flywheel with sprung clutch and hate it-the noise under load at low-mid rpms is horrible. I want to go back to a dual mass. Is there any downside in leaving the sprung clutch?

POST 2Original post

I can't imagine that would feel very nice, you would have the movement from the spung center as well as the movement in the dual mass flywheel.

POST 3Original post

you are probably right. I went ahead and ordered a regular clutch disk.

POST 4Original post

now you have that useless clutch and flywheel that you're going to throw out...I can take care of that for you, save you the effort

POST 5Original post

I was gonna say the same thing. I've got the OEM clutch/flywheel with 41k miles on it, and intend to swap for a lightweight setup once mine wears out. If you want to swap, hit me up.

POST 6Original post

I already ordered new clutch and flywheel. Mine only has 6K miles or so on it. PM if you are interested in purchase.
