Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi All, I could not find a post that addressed getting factory or OEM parts for your first or second gen Porsche so I thought I would start this thread with a poll to achieve two goals: 1 - Help folks with specific questions about part #s and sources (seems Porsche has screwed up the catalogs so badly recently that some body parts that are supposedly available can no longer be ordered easily) 2 - Aside from the usual suspects such as Pelican, FCP Euro, ECS tuning, Online Dealer parts and others, hoping to share specialty sources for factory, body, interior and similar part sources. My 2006 Cayman RS has been in the shop now for 6 months due to screwups on Porsche 's part with part numbers and increasingly limited availability of many body parts and components. It took 3 months to get a rear passenger quarter panel and we still can't get a simple rocker panel. Porsche changed the part number to a Boxster part that doesn't fit the Cayman , and they have yet to provide a part number or availability information for the rocker panel. So I have lost use of my car, possibly permanently, because Porsche North America refuses to help the dealers or body shops. I'm hearing from Porsche -certified body shops that this is becoming an increasing problem with all models, even more recent ones, post-COVID after Porsche changed up their supply chain. So if Porsche doesn't want to work with its customers or dealers, maybe we can find ways around them. I'm willing to buy salvaged body parts in good shape but ever since the LA Dismantlers debacle and demise I'm not sure where to go. So I hope the community here will share the love with their tips and sources for OEM and Factory parts - especially new or used when it comes to body and interior parts. Cheers
