Leading evidence: 'Replace muffler deletes' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best yet' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace muffler deletes' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Haven't heard of Hooker since a friend and I V8 swapped an S10 in high school and used their headers.

Suspected cause
The machine work on the flange that bolts to the head and the tube integration is just classic Hooker quality, probably the best yet.

Suggestion
If someone were really good with acoustics, I think they could use several smaller diameter pipes in side a larger pipe, with different lengths, and get an even higher pitch and frequency, like F1 type sound.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know another renn member was the test model for these. Hooker has them in stock and on their website.
The muffler looks like it would be a bit loud, but they added " wave resonators for reduced drone" ( I wonder what they consider expectable amount of drone? I replaced my muffler deletes because of the drone)
They look well built. At least what you would expect from Hooker at this price point.

Me Too... I loved how the muffler deletes sounded hated how they droned. I had to wear ear plugs any time I was going to drive more than 30mins away.
So I have high hopes for these.
It's great to see more of the "mainstream" hot-rod community companies making products for our cars. Unfortunately, due to the relatively low #'s (as compared to American/Japanese cars) the prices are still pretty high...
I may beat you to it. Although, I love the sound and performance of my custom exhaust...the drone is slowly getting to me and I'm starting to look at other options. I already have Cargraphic Headers so I would just be looking at getting the mufflers. I've had a very positive experience with Hooker products in the past.

Like I said I would like to hear it, but reading the description, I think it would not be to my taste. It says it gives a deep tone.
I like deep tones on big engines, but I want a high pitch, high frequency on my 3.4 m96.
Me and a friend of mine were playing around with x-pipes, 200 cell cats, and muffler by-pass pipes (different sizes) with different baffles sizes, and ended up with a high pitch-high frequency sound, the best I have heard yet. but I still think it could be improved.
The bigger the pipe, the deeper the tone, and glass packing tends to absorb the high pitch tones.
If someone were really good with acoustics, I think they could use several smaller diameter pipes in side a larger pipe, with different lengths, and get an even higher pitch and frequency, like F1 type sound.
But that's just me, and why I like the Intake Scream over the exhaust note, I like the high pitch..
Hooker has had great quality and some of the best designs in exhaust headers for decades.
I am surprised they didn't post any dyno graphs.
I would be concerned with 1.750 diameter primary tubes on a stock or only slightly modified 3.6, with a significant loss in measured torque.
Maybe the collector can somehow can compensate.
For a track high performance 3.6 - 4.0 engine, these are going to be awesome.
The machine work on the flange that bolts to the head and the tube integration is just classic Hooker quality, probably the best yet.

Mufflers on close out, DCd from Holley:
I ordered a set as I really like the design and would like to see if the Helmholtz res works for drone reduction, proper length for our motors at reducing the 2.5k rpm drone most aftermarket mufflers can create:

Yes! My thoughts exactly I paid about $600 for my top speed cans so for the price with the tuning of the j-pipe / jigged to fit stock is pretty good!
I searched the internet and couldnt find any reviews besides a YouTube video install. I think Jake best described these as being a close second to a muffler delete kit which is what I am looking for a little more bark than my current set up without the drone or the loudness of the fabspeed supercups (but I imagine these will be loud). I do have an x-pipe with 200 cell cats and I am happy to post some more photos etc once I receive them.
The price is an absolute steal!!
Well too good to be true- got an email with a refund response as vivid must be a drop shipper and doesnt have any actual inventory :/
I think they are totally out and none available from Holley.
Doesnt help but vivid is the worst company to buy from. U will notice that there r 4 or 5 web based companies with the exact same web site format as vivid and as far as u can tell they r the same company. They sell parts for evey type of vehical and the web site pricing and inventory r not up to date so its basically a bait and switch company for u to pay more ro actually get the part. I would bet in 2hrs their web site will be updated with a new price or show unavailable as they wait for an order to fix their mistakes.
Does anyone know of a company that could build these for me? A lot of custom shops around me are more motivated for repairs and maintenance than custom mufflers.
