Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The logic of using something iphone based was to benifit from the quality of the screen on the phone during use, I guess the inbuilt screens on these are a lot better quality (less pixilated) than they were a few years ago?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I posted this on the 'gadgets' part of this forum with no response, as there are plenty of hands on folk in the 996 section hopefully you guys may come through with a recommendation I'd like to buy a borescope, ideally one that works with an iPhone for the ease of screen shots etc but looking online the only options appear to be either too cheap (so presumably not worth the peanuts you're spending on them) or professional grade costing hundreds of pounds with very little in the middle. Could anyone make a recommendation from experience of a unit that would suit home use and be effective and reliable? £50-£80?

POST 2Original post

Personally I'd go for an independant bit of kit like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Teslong-Inspection-Borescope-Waterproof-Semi-Rigid/dp/B09LQQLP12 Otherwise you're always tied to having an iphone + other complications.

POST 3Original post

I got one of these earlier this year for investigating some architectural issues. It was great and I thik would work well for automotive investigation. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08CZDYZV8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details

POST 5Original post

The one I bought claims a 1920 x 1080 HD high contrast screen etc. It certainly seemed pretty good for investigatiing spaces between floors.

POST 6Original post

I picked up one a couple of years back, similar to this https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-NIDAGE-Inspection-Semi-Rigid-Inspecting/dp/B0791DG4FK/ref=sr_1_4?crid=XNOERV4VYQAC&keywords=nidage+wireless+endoscope&qid=1668649676&sprefix=nidage+wi%2Caps%2C268&sr=8-4 It's wifi and works with any device with wifi. Nice small camera end that fits into bores, even from the underside. Still giving high res image on a tablet or event PC. Stand alone unit, at least all I've seen, are not a large enough image or high enough res without spending BIG money
