Interesting you should mention that, during my engine rebuilds one of the lambda sensors was shot - it was replaced so it'd be interesting to see if the issue is cured.
Leading evidence: 'alternator regulator' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'alternator regulator' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace so it'd be interesting' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Yeah, the most used place seems to be under the rear 'parcel shelf' lining.

what you will see is every few mins on an amp test the amps increase for a few seconds ..

In my testing I didn't get to C1 so I asked the engine builder to do some testing while we're there and they came with C1.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.
Replace so it'd be interesting

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
so it's been established that my slow drain (140mA) is happening on circuit fused by C1 which is "ENGINE ELECTRICS"
Any gurus know from the top of their head what could be the culprit in this area?
cheers
How long have you left the car after checking it? The Lambda sensors have a burn off for around 40 minutes that draw power until they stop.

Interesting you should mention that, during my engine rebuilds one of the lambda sensors was shot - it was replaced so it'd be interesting to see if the issue is cured.
FWIW, I tested as follows; get a meter in 10A mode inline, ensure car "thinks" is locked (depress door lock and lock with double click to disengage interior alarm), and wait for good 1hr for draw to stabilize, then pull some fuses whilst watching meter readout.
In my testing I didn't get to C1 so I asked the engine builder to do some testing while we're there and they came with C1.
140 Ma is 0.14 on a tester set at 10 or 20 amps .
Normal drain after an hour would be 60 milliamps give or take .. it will get lower over time ..
So was it 140 + 60 .. ie a reading of 0.2 amps or was the total 0.14 ?
If 0.14 then the C1 fuse is responsible for 80 milliamps .
That's far too low to be a lambda burn off and after an hour its past that stage .. it sounds like the dme is not going into sleep mode .. that's complicated as it may be the dme or another unit .. ie alarm keeping it awake .
C1 is DME cu and the Mfi relay .. you could try pulling this relay but i would expect a far higher amp usage if it was linked to this .
So .. off hand .. a DME or something stopping the DME from entering sleep mode is my guess .
A total discharge of 140 Ma would drain a battery in about 3-4 weeks or longer depending on how good the battery is to the point it wont crank over ..
What issue do you have ?
I'm sure I posted about this before, this has been an issue for as long as i've had the car. Of course if the car is driven weekly it's not really an issue but would like the drain to be within respectable levels - "something is not right", that's the only issue.
Initially the drain was worse (drop down windows at 2am and alarm blaring) which was traced to the alternator regulator which was replaced, but it didn't cure it completely.
I'll see what the car does when i get it back. Thanks for the info deMort as always encyclopedia of knowledge...
Just to point out .. a Tracker fitted to these cars has a seperate battery which should be charged only when the engine is running ..
These fail over time and the car will try to charge these battery with engine not running .. what you will see is every few mins on an amp test the amps increase for a few seconds ..
When i test these cars i will stand and watch the amp meter for 5 mins or so looking for a spike .. or i will graph the readings over several hours and look for a spike .
These faults are intermittent ones and are tricky to see let alone diagnose but a rule of thumb .. remove any Tracker unit ( cobra ) as i very much doubt you are still paying for them .
Just another possibility is all i'm trying to say and it's not linked to what you have but will be a higher discharge .
Yeah, the most used place seems to be under the rear 'parcel shelf' lining.
i would lift that up quickly and see if you can see one under there. Under the metal plate.
