How much did you spend at dealer for the maintenance? I only have 6500K miles. Car tells me that I need to bring her in!

I think that you will find that it will vary from dealer to dealer as they are independent and can charge what they feel. As a general rule, expect to pay $600-$800 for the first service. You may only have 6500 miles (6500k=6,500,000, btw) but there are several items that need looking at, not because of mileage, but because of age/time. Your motor oil and brake fluid collect a lot of moisture over time, and if you haven't changed your motor's oil in those two years, then it's time... also, if you look in the back of your maintenance book, you'll see that it's required to change/flush the brake fluid every two years... other parts of you car really should be inspected after two years - hoses in particular, come to mind... and a general inspection would be a good thing to do... at 18 months, my 20k mile inspection revealed a small oil leak that was hard to detect otherwise. brad

I spent $0.00 for my 2 yr service - of course, I told them that I didn't need an oil change or brake service, since I did those myself a couple of months earlier. I did have a CEL for them to check, so I guess they did the rest of the inspection as warranty service related to the CEL (and they reprogrammed my key fob for free).

I had mine done at 7,000 miles also as it was 24 months old, dealer recommended changing break fluid and wipers, was told it would be around £500.00 but after 'discussion' they agreed to do it for nothing since car should have been serviced before sale (8 weeks earlier) ! Bet they regretted recommending the extra two items
