This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Dealer is considerable distance from me; Porsche-experienced independent tech has some sealed cans of "ATE super blue Racing" fluid...is this the same stuff as plain ol' ATE super blue used by many of us?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Yes, I have used the search function to answer this question but can't find exactly the info. I need, so: it's time to flush my brake fluid. Dealer is considerable distance from me; Porsche-experienced independent tech has some sealed cans of "ATE super blue Racing" fluid...is this the same stuff as plain ol' ATE super blue used by many of us? Don't want to put the wrong fluid in and have a problem. Car is street only, no track. Thanks for advice!

POST 2Original post

There is some search information on this topic, and it may be beneficial to explore. As I recall, and I have an aging memory, the fluid that Porsche uses is no different than the ATE Super Blue, other than the color, meaning that they are both DOT 4. I was going to put ATE fluid in my car, but I got a $300 discount at the dealership, so I am going to let them take care of it this time. And try: http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-tech/4802-brake-fluid.html if you haven't already ...
