I have fitted Designtek valved back boxes and with the valves closed I am right on the limit at static test 105db.

Never had problem running on track in Cadwell or Oulton with the valves closed.

Suggestion
I have OEM+ sounding Dansk Sport boxes, which were too quiet so gundo modded and now they sound great - but running ~105 dB which is far above most track days with <100 dB limits.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

All,
My car came fitted with the Milltek non-resonated cat-back exhaust silencers (SSXPO019). They sound fantastic, producing a deep flat six bark when the revs are piled on, but are definitely louder than standard. I was wondering if anyone on here also has them fitted and has used them at a trackday?
I really don't want to pay several hundred quid only to be refused entry. I live fairly close to Goodwood and they are apparently very strict.
Anything significantly louder than stock system will have challenges at many UK track days unfortunately. I have OEM+ sounding Dansk Sport boxes, which were too quiet so gundo modded and now they sound great - but running ~105 dB which is far above most track days with <100 dB limits.
Might be worth investing in dB meter and test yourself before booking. It will give you an idea depending on the track event, although it's never exact as there's lots of sound variables. Plenty of YouTube vids how to test. Given how great Miltek sound, I suspect it will be well over 100 dB.
Goodwood run trackdays regularly. If you pop along when one is running and ask the marshal's to test it for you, they are happy to oblige for no cost.
They do 98db and 105db days so you'll be able to get out there even if your a bit loud.
The above listed limits apply to a static noise test. They also have noise meters on the circuit so they can monitor the situation. It's possible to pass the static test but still be too noisy, but they can "manage" that a bit.
Just to update this thread:
I managed to get over to Goodwood whilst a track day was on and persuaded a marshal to give me their standard static test. These Millteks will give you a static noise of 99dbs for anyone interested.
They said I would be allowed on the track still but would have to keep the revs down at particular places on the circuit where the permanent meters are placed.
Useful to know & thanks for sharing. Surprising results. Still would be annoying to forget to keep revs down during heat of moment at specific parts of track and be told to stop. Really puts me off taking the chance if borderline. Would want to be comfortably under personally.
Useful info, thanks.
Are you on a standard airbox setup too? I have Milltek's with an airbox resonator delete kit and a K&N lifetime panel filter. I know you mentioned non-resonated, just wondered if this is what you meant.

Wow, how loud is it with the valves open?[/quote]
With valves open on motorway difference is small but once you put foot down they loud.
Had a back box delete kit for a couple of weeks and that is loud. Very boomy all the time.
