Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Both of the ignition keys for my 996 are playing up. Changed the battery in one and it stopped flashing after a week or so. My spare has a battery spring and the rubber gasket missing. There seems to be a host of people offering up key repairs on Ebay. Can anyone recommend someone who could refurbish / replace the dodgy parts on my keys. ? Thanks.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Update: just tried the battery in a friends good key and the lights flash, so battery is good but not flashing in my keys. What's the possible problem.? Tried the polarity swap... no change. Flasher chip.? Transponder.? Anyone had this problem.?

POST 3Original post

This info from JMG may help: https://www.jmgporsche.co.uk/item/234-996-986-alarm-primer Half way down the page there's a section...."Next, the remote controls can play up in a number of ways..."
