Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Planet-9: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I've searched and couldn't find any reference to using a pump or extractor to do the oil change. Does that not work on our cars because of the dry sump system? Sorry if this question has been asked before!

POST 2Original post

You could not effectively pump the oil out of there.

POST 3Original post

......also, even with a traditional wet sump any heavy residue ( for want of a better term ), would settle on the bottom, so not all would flush out in the same way it would via gravity. Unless I am wrong, and according to 'her indoors' i frequently am!

POST 4Original post

Humm, the old pump I had depended on putting the extract tube down the dipstick. The Cayman has no dipstick, so much for that!

POST 5Original post

Thanks for the replies! I guess I'll be getting my back dirty

POST 6Original post

though sort of OT , our cars do not have a true dry sump system . i believe Porsche calls it an "integrated dry sump". if im correct , only the GT3 and GT3RS use a true dry sump .

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
