Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Pelican Parts: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey Guys, I'm the proud owner of a 996 but after taking the hard top of, I went to close the softtop which failed. The hook closed 2 inches short. My first thought was hydraulics but I checked all that and it's fine. Then I checked top latch, which is where I think I found the cause. As you can see in the pictures there is a small spring that broke. I can see where it is fixed on the right part but where is the left part supposed to go? http://imgur.com/a/nn9th Does anybody know where to find these springs, or am I bound to by a whole new or seconds hand system? Cost wise, paying $500 for a spring would be a shame. Any help would be appreciated. Edit : Can't get the picture to work.
