Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Can anyone identify the 5 button console switch in the picture and possibly the part number? I've been doing some searching and found some references to others asking the same question but no definitive answers; a schematic for a 2006 997 that shows this switch so it must have been real at some point. I attached a schematic for the switch in my 2008 987 (99761313900FMH). Interestingly the circuit board it has a "reserved" button that switches through the same gateway line as the "sport" and "spoiler". Could this have been for a "sport plus" mode that was never offered in a 987.1 ? The last schematic is the button module (99761313100FMH) for PSE option without "sport". You can see the wiring for PSE is the same as the 2006 997 5 button. My guess is that the 2006 997 button module was an early design, the current switch module uses the gateway to open PSE in sport mode. My interest in this is to have a separate control for PSE that could have been or looks like factory offering. Thank you in advance for any help.

Did you ever find your answer to this question? I have an 07 987CS w/ PSE and Sport mode and have the same question - would like the 5-button switch but have yet to find it.

POST 3Original post

Hello Gents, Did you finally find a solution to build a A button console switch? I have found places where you can get OEM 4 button consoles (the 2 types) which should enable us to get the exact buttons. My question is: which one to use as the basic (I think the one without the Exhasut tips emblem) and how to wire it to make it usable on a 997.1 ?
