I've had my 02 Boxster 5-speed's fluid changed now more than a few times using the "factory" fluid and it is going on 278K+ miles with nary any signs of issues.

If its anything like the Tipronic box stuff, there isnt really any other choice than the liquid gold recommended by Porsche - 8ltrs x £15!

Best advice I can offer is just use what the parts counter clerk shoves over the counter at the local dealer err OPC based on your car's VIN. I've had my 02 Boxster 5-speed's fluid changed now more than a few times using the "factory" fluid and it is going on 278K+ miles with nary any signs of issues. My 03 Turbo's 6-speed has 118K+ miles and has its fluid changed 2 times and the transmission gives every indication it will go double, triple or quadruple that number of miles, easy. A few bucks' savings on fluid vs. a $10K (or more) tranny rebuild bill? Not the odds I'd care to accept.

I put Millers stuff in my GT3 last year. Just because I put their engine oil in too really. Purchased from Woodcote automotive iirc. Helpful, knowledgable chap.

porsche offered oil, but as its only in a big drum. They were about to cobble together an empty oil can.....got 3 litres elsewhere.... sorted .. thanks
