Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Pistonheads recommend Bosch over Exide but I suppose it is all down to personal choice and experience.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mine has come to the end of its life and I am undecided betwen a Bosch oe Exide 85Ah model. There is about £20 difference in the price from 911parts in favour of Exide. Any thoughts on which is the best from the floor please?

POST 2Original post

I'll be interested in people's recommendations on this subject, as I'm in the same predicament. Mike

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Unipart price same as 911parts but is a Unipartr battery not a Bosche. Also has only 80A/hr and less CCA. Discovered a 5% discount on Car911 which helps as well. Pistonheads recommend Bosch over Exide but I suppose it is all down to personal choice and experience.

£89 inc tax and postage next day (ebay) for Bosch S5 85Ah 800 CCA. That Battery is more like £130-150 anywhere else. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bosch-S5-Car-Battery-Type-UK-110-5-Year-Guarantee-/350644401902?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item51a408f6ee
