Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, Im getting a knocking kind of rattle which sounds like its coming from under the car, but heres the weird thing. It only happens after Ive been driving for a while and only on hot days. Any thoughts? Could it be related to AC lines? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Probably not an ac line. May be exhaust...muffler or cats coming apart?

+1 Pop the cats with a rubber mallet. See if you hear a rattle. You might need to disco/loosen one flange side to set up more vibration. I had a cat core that didnt manifest it had separated until I took it off and shook it. Also check your exhaust tips for tight.

Tried the rubber mallet trick on the cats, left one had a bit of a rattle reverberating when I hit it.
