Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Hi, I have a CDR30 stereo in my Cayman R which always switches on but I have no volume intermittently. I hear a electrical popping noise (from the amp I think) around the time when the volume either comes or goes. Has anyone had a similar issue? Is the amp under the left—hand seat? Should I replace the amp or the head unit and somehow bypass the amp (I'm guessing the amp is faulty) I'm not too bothered about the stereo but it's obviously nice to have it sometimes and would rather keep the car with the stock stereo.

This may help you, I had something similar on my 2011 Boxster Spyder . I found this: 997/987 Amplifier fix reccomendation - Page 1 - Porsche General - PistonHeads UK www.pistonheads.com Did the same, and it worked. Worst part was waiting for the $4 relay from China... https://********.com/forums/987-981-forum/1195664-speakers-cutting-in-and-out.html
