When I replaced the fob I had to take the battery out and it did nothing to the key, it worked fine afterwards.

Hi, I'm rather surprised to discover that the battery in the fob is not of the recharging type!! How easy is it to replace the battery and does the key lose it's settings after the battery has been replaced please? Both of my keys are starting to get unresponsive. It was only 1 originally, so I switched to the spare set. I have to push lock/unlock button so hard that the the rubber has split! (but fortunately saw a post on the keyfob required under parts for sale forum). PS It's also surprisingly not mentioned in the manual

They're pretty standard batteries. Pry the fob apart with a screwdriver or similar and you'll see it. When I replaced the fob I had to take the battery out and it did nothing to the key, it worked fine afterwards. Obviosuly make a note of which way up the battery is sitting to get the terminals the right way round. Other than that it's a 5 min job. Can't recall the exact battery type though, lithium coin cell of some description, it will be stamped on the battrey itself though and very easy to get hold of.
