Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

My PCM unit (2.1 I think, it's a 2006 car with the phone module) is constantly rebooting today, through 3 separate journeys. Even with the engine off (though sitting in the car) it's starting up and immediately shutting down. It doesn't normally get past the white boot screen, but when it does the screen dies with streaky artifacts. No recent damage or cleaning or anything - anyone experienced this and/or know of any fixes?

POST 2Original post

My 2015 981 CS had to get an entire new PCM today. It started rebooting a few weeks ago. The reset did not work and fortunately, my warranty was good until Jan 21, 2021. My dealer actually had it in stock today and I can pick it up in the morning. It seems to be pretty common and my service rep mentioned several models that are out of stock.
