Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Suggestion
Price was reasonable, told me coil packs would likely need changing soon if i left them on (1 side cracked) and then pointed out of they were replaced during service there'd be no labour charge as the plugs were out and being replaced anyhow.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, just wondering if any of you guys are in the East Yorkshire/Humberside Region and whether anyone can advise on the nearest/best place to go for servicing? Initial searches seem to show that Specialist cars at Malton and Strasse at Leeds are the nearest. Does anyone have experience of these? Cheers, Rich.
In the Leeds area I have used these guys

Very impressed and would recommend them, not looking to overcharge and a good service. Not sure if it's near enough for you.
Another vote for 911sport. Just had mine doen there (2 weeks ago) and found them to be very professional, friendly and they listen (had a new pollen filter recently so told them not to change it, and they didn't...). Price was reasonable, told me coil packs would likely need changing soon if i left them on (1 side cracked) and then pointed out of they were replaced during service there'd be no labour charge as the plugs were out and being replaced anyhow.
Can't fault them, the only issue for E Yorks is the distance (for me) as despite being only a couple of miles off the humber bridge it still took me an hour and a quarter to get there
Closest is probably Specialist cars of Malton but to be frank i've been in there twice now and on both occasions have felt like a second class citzen. The pork was parked outside yet i felt like i was disturbing their far more interesting paperwork. Contrasts starkly with friends who have been and treated like royalty (offered coffee etc) whilst discussing servicing etc.... The difference? not sure but i look relatively young so maybe i looked like a timewaster?
Either way, 911Sport gets my vote.
They are closest to me - used them before but won't be using them again.
Will be following other recommendations and using
RPM
. Strasse are in Leeds and therefore carry a premium but not heard any bad things.
Strasse
Sadly I have quite a bit of experience of Strasse, with occasionally alarming amounts of blue smoke (from the car!) if I decide to "belt it" (like i did whnen i met Tim Storey) Have found Strasse to be willing and helpful although my problem remains so its back in this thursday for them to have another go at it.
Hopefully 4th time lucky :?:
Many thanks to you all for your replies. Tim, you say you're just a few miles from the Humber Bridge? I am in Hessle, so we must be practically neighbours. And here's me thinking I never see any 911's around Hull.
I think I'll give 911 sport a try, based on your comments and the fact that I don't mind a 'day out' if there's somewhere I can go while the work is being done. I guess that's the biggest advantage of Strasse, being in Leeds. Well, there's a few thousand miles before it needs a service so aside from any disasters I should have a bit of time to decide.
Thanks again folks.
I can recommend GC Motors in Harrogate. I bought my car from them, purchased their VERY extensive warranty and they have just done my 48K major service (inc belts) for £500.

hi m8,
i bring my 996 turbo all the way from Edinburgh to rob at auto services in Hartlepool, he is a TOTAL porsche man through and through, what he does not know about pork is not worth knowing! in fact he came all the way to Edinburgh to pick my car up for a few wee mods as i had to go offshore and did not have enough time to deliver it down to him, a great guy and good with the prices!! (well, i am Scottish)
his e mail is
[email removed]
or call him on 07907 911 911 or 01429 863666
cheers robin.
Rich, I'm in Welton. black 996 cab with black wheels, C2 T** number plate (mostly in a black golf GT TDi with a 911UK.com sticker in the back window however.....
)
are you either:
1) K15 A** or
2) Dark (?) 996 with R5 *** and BBS style wheels?
either way 911sport is a little out of the way but Lincoln's only 20 miles away (sadly not a lot else round there though....) but good service from my point of view
