Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The original Sport Technos turned out to be aftermarket with 15mm spacers which may have been a factor in the loss, amongst other things...

West Sussex Porsche fully checked over the repair, did an alignment check and topped it off with a 111 points check.

The troublesome Sport Technos have been replaced with GT3s all round and I'm very pleased.

I noticed that Cridfords had a set on sale a little while ago....was tempted to have a go, but decided to hold back for some 5 spoke Carrera's.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well I finally picked up my new repaired 996.
Almost 5 weeks after the 'incident' and I'm happy again. The troublesome Sport Technos have been replaced with GT3s all round and I'm very pleased. West Sussex Porsche fully checked over the repair, did an alignment check and topped it off with a 111 points check.
It was a cautious drive back up the M23 and M25 but once the confidence was back I was giving it some well needed beans
The exhaust is a bit lacking but my new one arrived at JZMachtech today so she'll be singing soon
Thanks again everyone for the advice and encouragement, 911uk has been an invaluable resource, again. :worship:
Looks very nice and the GT3s look perfect. Did you buy these new? I noticed that Cridfords had a set on sale a little while ago....was tempted to have a go, but decided to hold back for some 5 spoke Carrera's.
The car also looks lowered (not sure if this is the wheels).
PS Why were the Sport Techno's "troublesome", I thought they were easy clean!!!
The GT3s were purchased by the dealer during the repair. The original Sport Technos turned out to be aftermarket with 15mm spacers which may have been a factor in the loss, amongst other things... A full set of OEM Sport Technos couldn't be sourced for a few more weeks so the GT3s were offered up, I was very happy with either.
It is lowered, they previous owner fitted TechArt springs, gives a very nice stance, think it's aprox -20mm
Yeah, definitely. That's a big spacer to add to a narrow bodied car....esp. if they didn't fit longer bolts.
The Sport Techno's do look nice, but I think the GT3s are better.
The 996 looks loads better for being lowered...I'd agree, it's -20mm at least! I can't lower mine unfortunately, because it won't go in the garage (my garage is at the bottom of a hill)!
Best of luck with the car.
