I do know I bought and installed a MOT IHF1000 BT and it works great with up to four phones and is totally voice (except to click it to turn off/off).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I have the bose without PCM/NAV. I dont think it makes too much sense to invest in the Dension units if you dont have PCM. I was looking into installing the parrott system but I dont want to deal with fiber and a local porsche friendly installer quoted me $700 to intall the thing!!! Anyway, I didn't know this until I read someone post mentioning it - that the portable GPS systems have bluetooth built in. Does anyone who has this think that this works pretty well for them? Good enough that you dont even want to intall a build in system? On a side note, I am installing a ipod adapter that needs a pink ignition line hooked up. Anyone know where this would go?

POST 2Original post

Tme, I got my Dension install done by a local expert for $100. The quote from the dealer referred source (where they obviously get a cut) was more like $700. The advantages of the built in nav system (IMHO) are: 1. voice announcements do not conflict with music 2. you get an indicator in the LCD in front of you with the number of miles / direction to go on your next turn. I usually refer to this instead of looking away from the road at the PCM screen.

POST 3Original post

If you have the GPS built into the car, why would you want the hassle of another portable GPS that you have to wire into something? If you go to a steak house, do you order fish. Companies are throwing all kinds of stuff into GPS units (mp3 player, BT, etc.) to sell units. I have no idea if they are good or not. I do know I bought and installed a MOT IHF1000 BT and it works great with up to four phones and is totally voice (except to click it to turn off/off).
