I will be adding a bluetooth module to my 987 at the weekend and have figured out nearly all needed connections at the
CDR24
.
A:
A2: ASK Amplifier - could be used as switched power
A3: Telephone Mute
A4: power
A8: GND
B: Loudspeaker
C:
C12: Telephone NF GND
So the BT module will mute the radio but I don't know where to connect the loadspeaker output of my BTmodule so that I will hear the voice over the cars loudspeaker.
does anybody know where to connect it?
Please HELP, I do not want to install an extra loadspeaker for this hands free option!
Thanks, Boxsterthommy!
Is the loud speaker output from your BT module a line-level output or a speaker level (high level) output?
It is a speaker level output as I could directly connect the speaker which was delivered in the box. It is a BT module which I have in my Opel already and have good experience with (Siemens HKW-720).
You could splice it into the center channel speaker. I know those on the
Cayenne
boards who have done this to one of their speakers. It's the least expensive solution.
Another solution would be to use an FM modulator or the Dension unit to allow you to have a line-level input and then you'd have to use an line-output-converter to change your speaker level output to line level.
Most users on this board just end up going iwth an external speaker.

So there is defintely no connection point at the CDR pinout? Somewhere I read about the
CDR24
being similar to the CDR23 and I heard rumors that C7 is the line level input but nobody was able to affirm that. How would the factory solution (preparation for handsfree set) be connected if there is no line level input?

C7 is labeled "Telephone LF in" on the wiring diagram, so yes, it's a copper input; but I've never heard of anyone using it. But theoretically, since you will be also connectign C12 to mute, it should start looking for input there. I'd give it a shot, but I havn't heard of anyone being successful in doing it.
Okay, I will try it and then we will see. Thanks for taking a look in the wiring diagram. I will let you know how it worked out. I believe I somewhere read that the stereo has to be programmed to be able to handle a handsfree set. We will see...
