Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

In addition, figure another $200 for an alignment, which also must be done if you are changing your suspension.
Leading evidence: 'Replace suspension' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace suspension' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Quick question...how hard is it to install the X73 suspension kit? Are there any shop manuals or DIY instructions out there? If this is something that the dealer should handle...how long should it take them? Almost ready to bite the bullet on this kit
I was quoted $350 by a well-recommended in Porsche circles independent alignment shop in the Los Angeles area (which is a very low price, but still reasonable for someone who knows what they are doing). I would not try to do it myself, but that's me. My guess is that a pro could do it in 2-4 hours. Ended up trading the car before I put X73 on.
Anywhere from $300-$500 is probably what you would have to spend. In addition, figure another $200 for an alignment, which also must be done if you are changing your suspension.
The X 73 is significantly more difficult to install than an x74, which is what the other guys are refering to. The x74 is for a c2c4, essentially swap out the shocks/struts. The X73 is for the wide body/TT/C4S awd cars, the front differential is taken down, etc, it's actually alot more work. The usual job is 5-8hrs plus alignment, anybody who says they can do an x73 in 2hrs for 350$ is pulling your leg, or has never attempted it. I tried it, when I got down to taking apart the front diff I bailed, had a shop do the rest
BTW, be sure you put in the motor mounts that come with it or the parts won't be warrantied. If a shop tells you that they are not needed, walk, they don't know **** about porsches.
C4S Surgeon...that makes sense. I was wondering if you needed to take down the front diff. Local dealer quoted around 8 hrs, which originally seemed high to me, so I just wanted to consult the experts.
I'm assuming that the motor mounts are stiffer, to compensate for the stiffer suspension. Will put these in for sure. Thanks for the info!
Just confirming what Surgeon has said. Porsche dealer stated about 4-6 hrs labor, plus alignment/balance.
Where and how much did you get the X73? You can PM or e-mail me or just post here. Thanks!!
Picked it up from Gert at Carnewal. He includes shipping to Canada, and it was cheaper (even with the exchange rate) than getting it from my local dealer.
Don't remind me
. Just got done calling a whole bunch of sellers yesterday. Including Suncoast, and just got done talking to Braman after I read your post. They were on sale until July 31'st. Amazing how these competitors synchronize their their prices. I'll probably hold off buying until it's time to garage the car for winter. No rush now since no bargain sale prices.
